You can also make this fun by getting them to choose meals that contain the various food groups and allow them to help prepare them. They can even plan the entire week’s menu by choosing meals with each food group.
Getting them to cut down on junk food and snacks is also very important. They need to understand the ingredients in all the foods they eat and know that many snacks contain a lot of bad ingredients like excess sugar and fat. Instead, let them eat fruits and vegetables as often as they need or at least choose healthier snacks that have less sugar.
