Church and atheists what do you think of this story?

Sixteen years ago I turned on the television in my apartment, and there was a pet commercial on. The store was doing a advertisement on ferrets. I have never seen a ferret before. When I saw the little critters running around in their cage. I said to myself, “I have to get one!”
I went down to the pet store on my way to work that night. The price of a ferret was one hundred and ninety nine dollars. I didn’t even bother going into the store. I just stood outside and looked through the glass window smiling at the little critters as they slept their his cage.
I wanted a ferret, but I didn’t have that kind of money to get one.
The more they advertised the ferrets on TV, the more I wanted one.
That Friday when I got paid. I took a jar that I got from work. Wrote down on a piece of paper, savings for my ferret.
For the next six month, I would add money into the jar until I had enough money to save up to get me my ferret.
By the time I had saved up, the pet store had come down on the prices. The ferrets were now priced at one hundred and fifty dollars.
When I walked into the pet store, there were ten ferrets sleeping in one big cage. After checking out the ferrets, I asked the lady at the counter did they have any albino ferrets. I wanted one that was all white with pink eyes.
The closest one that look like a albino was a female ferret who had a black tip for the tail. She was a couple of weeks old and a tiny little one.
“Ok, now I have a problem,” I told the lady. “I know nothing about ferrets. Do you have a instruction book or a guide book to tell me how to take care of one?” “Well sir, all you have to do is.” Before she could say anything else. I cut her off and told her, “Before I leave this store, whatever you are going to tell me, believe me, I won’t remember any of it by the time I get home. So if you don’t mind, just answer my question at hand. Do you have a instruction book or a guide book to tell me how to take care of a ferret?”
She walked me over to the stand, handed me a guide book that would take me through the steps of taking care of a ferret. For thirty minutes I stood at the stand reading the book. Wanting to know what size cage would be comforter able for the ferret. What kind of food they should and shouldn’t eat. I wanted to know everything about the ferret before buying one.
After reading some of the items I needed to have for a ferret. I went and told the lady I was ready to buy one. Every thing from the cage, to the ferret food, toys, and it’s treat cost me close to two hundred and fifty dollars.
On the way home. I opened up the book and continue to read more about my new ferret. Every day for a week, I read my guide book. Remembering everything that the book was instructing me to do. About a month later, I didn’t need the book anymore. I put it up on the book shelf.
Two months after having Sanford, I went down to the store and got him a mate. Sandra would be a new add on to the family. Sanford died two years later.
When I moved into my new apartment, I wasn’t allowed to have any pets. So I gave Sandra away to a friend of mine daughter who loved ferrets but couldn’t afford to get one.
A week before I gave Sandra to Denise. I asked Penny to bring Denise over to the house so I could show her house to raise Sandra. I showed her all the tricks that Sandra liked to play when she was left alone.
I warned her of the things that she also like to steal and hide when no one was around. Than I handed her the guide book and told her, “This is her book on how to raise her, feed her and everything else that pertains to her. If you expect her to be healthy, read this book. It has things in there that will help you to help her grow. Learn about her. Don’t just assume anything. If she get sick, take her to the vet, but don’t try to do anything yourself.”
When I was a kid. If you walked into a pet store and asked someone at the counter did they have a book on how to take care of a pet mouse. They would look at you as if you were crazy. There were no books on how to take care of a pet mouse.
The man at the counter would give you a few friendly advice just to get you out of the store. But there were no books on how to take care of a pet mouse.
Today if you walk into a pet store, and ask the guy behind the counter for a book on how to raise a pet tick. If he doesn’t have one in his store. He will get on line and find a book for you.
Every thing in life has a instruction book.
We as human has a instruction book for our lives. The sad thing about human instruction books. A lot of people don’t understand it. A lot of people don’t want to understand it. A lot of people don’t believe in it. A lot of people try using it to control other people. A lot of people don’t see any need for it. And a lot of people just don’t trust in it. It sad that people feel this way towards human instruction books. So my question to those that don’t believe in the bible. What human instruction books do you tr

How not to sleep through the alarm clock?

I need serious advice.

My entire life I’ve been an insanely heavy sleeper. I can sleep through extremely loud noises, extreme temperatures and all forms of light. I’m not quite as bad as I was when I was a kid, but I still sleep hard.

I’ve been looking up tips for waking up easier and how to not sleep through the alarm clock. Trouble is, all the advice/tips & tricks I’m finding are no brainers. I’ve been doing them anyway and my problem still exists.

I get the maximum amount of sleep I can possibly get.

I don’t drink caffeine at night.

I’ve done every relaxation tip in the book before bed.

I’ve been trying very hard to eat right and exercise.

I set at least three alarms every morning that play loud, energetic songs. I switch them up so I don’t get used to the tones.

My alarms are placed DIRECTLY next to my head. (No, putting them across the room in effort to FORCE me up to turn the alarm off will not help. I sleep THROUGH the alarm. My snooze button never gets tapped at all. I’m fairly positive if the alarm is next to my head and I don’t hear it at all, placing it farther away from my head is not going to come close to fixing my problem.)

I try to get into a routine… Look at any artice you can find online for waking up easier and not sleeping through the alarm and I can assure you I do it.

Still, I find myself snoozing right through the alarm clock.

And I’m NOT guilty of hitting the snooze button over and over. I sleep THROUGH my alarms. I never even hear the alarm in the first place to hit the snooze at all.

In college earning my BS when I had an 8AM class, I would purposefully do homework all night the night before and not sleep a wink because I was too scared of oversleeping. Not the healthiest or wisest thing to do, but it worked for me at the time.

I graduated two years ago and have been working a job with a flexible schedule ever since (meaning, I go in whenever I wake up; there’s no set time for me to be there).

In about two weeks I’ll be starting classes again. I have a 45 (or better) minute drive to class in the morning and I have to be there by 8AM. I’m starting to freak out a little about being able to wake up on time. I certainly do NOT want to repeat skipping nights of sleep as I did before.

I’ve looked into alarm clocks for hearing impaired people that run $70 or so, but recently I’ve come across some alarm clock called “The Bomb” or something along those lines. From what I understand it’s quite loud and vibrates. I read a review where one person suggested putting one under the mattress to shake you when it goes off. It’s considerably less expensive than the hearing impaired alarm (and I have another person sleeping in the bed beside me… I want to avoid disturbing him as much as I can, though, he’s notorious for sleeping through alarms as well, just not as bad as I am).

Anyway, I was thinking about getting two of these loud, vibrating alarms. One for beside my head and one for under the mattress.

Does anyone have anything to contribute or other ideas for me?

Weight issues, help me out?

I’m 15, female, 5’11 and 215 lbs. I don’t eat EXTREMELY healthily but i haven’t seen fast food in months, the occasional slice of cake or bowl of ramen noodles are the worst things i can think of that i eat, other than that fruits, vegetables, and a healthy amount of protein everyday. Same with exercise, i don’t work out on a regular basis but i live on a stables, so i ride horses and get more than 2 miles of walking everyday just bringing them to and from the pastures, so why is it then, that i’m still fat? I know i’m tall but i still have a gut and you could carve an average 15 yr old kid from my thighs, it’s disgusting. I’ve tried dieting but the most i’d ever lose is 10 maybe 15 lbs and then i’d stop losing any, i’d still keep with my diet though, but after 3 or 4 months of no change, who could blame me for stopping? Also, i have a slightly irregular heart beat so i can’t exactly go to the gym and work out for two hours, a half an hour on the treadmill at a jog is all i can stand, otherwise i’d literally pass out from not enough blood reaching my brain, it’s happened before, from when i tried to exercise more consistently. Am i just forever doomed to be overweight? Or is there some kind of tip i’m totally missing the memo on? I know im still young, and my weight may even out as i get older, but for those of you who have gone through or are still in high school, you know how tough it can be, and pressure for drugs and alcohol is bad enough, but i also have to deal with constant criticisms of my size. Really if i could just get and hold my weight to 180 i would be bouncing off the walls in joy, can anyone help me get there? Or at least give me some advice on starting down the right road?

Also, please, I appreciate the kind comments, but i don’t want to hear the “You’re perfect just the way you are!” speech, I want help, not lies.

Losing Weight? Please Help.?

I’m not going to say my weight but lets just say it’s above 250.
I’ve been this way most of my life,
but i’m tired of it.

I wear a jacket everyday to school,
in hot weather because i’m too unconfident to walk down a hallway without one.

I love fashion,
but cant wear what I want because it either doesn’t come in my size,
or it looks terrible on me.

And today I had a terrible day,
it seemed no matter where I went,
I was shunned for my weight,
even by friends.

I had a kid sit by me on the bus, and say “ew”.
I felt like a waste of space.

Normally I’m very confident emotionally,
but I just lost it the second I go home.

So anyways,
what are some things I can eat that will help me to be healthier?
If you’re dieting, please give me some tips.

Thanks ._.

Help boyfriend lose weight? Please help! (airforce)?

Recently, my boyfriend has moved in with my family (Dad, three little brothers, and myself). My dad and brothers are not the healthiest of people, we as a family eat a lot of junk food and my dad and brothers eat that plus fast food 4 or 5 times a week (i need an answer other than ‘cut out fast food’ because thats a given!) lol Anyway, back to my boyfriend. He is a senior in high school and needs to cut down weight because his plan is to go into the airforce right after he graduates. A few months back he was saying how he needed to lose around 50 lbs by that time to be able to go to basic training. He has kept putting it off and putting it off and now here we are, almost November with not a lot to show for it. He goes running every now and then (he claimed he NEEDED an ipod or mp3 to be more motivated while he runs so he will go further… so we got him an ipod, there goes that excuse!) I feel like he looked a little slimmer at one point but im afriad he has gained it right back….

He is in shape, just needs to cut down pounds fast! Its not like he’s some fat kid that can’t run…

What i need to know is:
-How can i make him man up and get this done! (i know ‘i cant make him do it’ & ‘i cant do it for him”… need better answers)
-I’m cleaning out my family’s kitchen! No more swiss cake rolls! What kind of foods should i buy for him?
-I feel like i could help him better if there was a certain diet i was concentrating on. like rules i could follow and certain foods i can keep him away from and vertain foods i should make him eat.
-if you can give me a certain diet, i need meal ideas (easy, please!) that i can cook for him and my family.
-does anyone have a good daily schedule that works well for them? I drive him to school in the mornings and he needs to be showered and ready to leave by about 6:50. & 3 or 4 times a week he works in the after noon, about 3:45 to 9:00pm average…
-anyother diet tips, planning meal tips, schedule tips or ANYTHING else?

I know this is rather long and out of order and looks like chaos, but i am very upset right now and need to get this thing moving for not only his future, but also OUR future. He will be proposing sometime next month…. i dont want to marry someone if i feel like they cant ‘take care’ of me, pursay…

thank you!
Julia- wowwww after i clearly said, so do not tell me i cant make him lose the weight, im not stupid. and after i CLEARLY stated he is going into the airforce… thanksss…..

& what is he going to do when were married??? hmmmm…. be in the airforce???? (: be a husband…. uhmmmm stupid question.

I need a fattening diet for my cat so I can eat her later?

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!

Seriously though.. I need a fattening diet for her.

She suffered a severe allergic reaction to fleas recently and lost 2 lbs. She was 8.2lbs in June when she went to the vet the first time, and now she’s 6.8lbs as of the vet trip yesterday.

The vet gave me tips and recommended about 6 different foods, but I already don’t like commercial cat food and would like to try actual food on her.

She’s on revolution, received CapStar at the vet and received …. Melantonin? not sure if that is right but from memory that’s what it sounded like the vet said.

Anyway, what are healthy diet plans for her to help her gain weight?

Thanks.

Kramer the eclectus. Is he doing OK?

I will preface this by stating that Kramer is my boyfriends bird (I am just always around) and he knows a lot more information than I do and we have spent a lot of time with our breeder asking questions and learning all about how to care for him. I am just trying to help and learn a little more myself. =)

So my boyfriend and I got Kramer, a vosmarie eclectus, about 2 months ago. He was about 4 months when we got him and we had been visiting him at the breeder once a week since he was born. Up until now he has been amazing. He loves fruit and still eats a good amount of vegtables and seeds. We do have him in an apartment, but he still has a huge play stand and a standard size cage. My boyfriend has been rotating a few toys in and out of his cage and on his stand, which as of now he is finally begining to play with them. Little problem though…Kramer is an AMAZING flyer. We took him back to the breader and had him clipped twice. The first time was not sufficient enough and after the second he seemed to be able to aim and land safely, but not be able to cross the room. As soon as we got home Kramer was back flying back and forth like a pro. Now I thought this was wonderful, until it was pointed out that he was becoming a little too independent. After this was pointed out to me, I began to notice within the past week or so because Kramer has become very moody. He loves being on top of his cage playing around, but does not want to be held any longer than about 30 seconds by me. He lets me hug him and say hello, but then he is done after that. When my boyfriend trys Kramer is uninterested most of the time, unless he is being fed. I find this upsetting because up until now Kramer has loved sitting on our shoullders as we do homework or watch TV and/or just spending time on his perch near us. Usually, he likes his stand, but recently just like everything else, he wants to be on his cage. I thought the problem lies in the fact that we give him a little too much freedom when we are home, as well as his wings?

Too add, he is starting to use his beak for communication a lot more and I am thinking that his “terrible two’s” is starting?

Lastly, Kramer loves to make noise at night (which I know is normal) and its just baby bird sounds, but during the day he does try to talk a little, but I feel like were getting no where. I do know that some eclectus never end up talking, but I feel as if Kramer will. Any tips to help him out? I know there are ideas of leaving talking tapes, or playing music, but we are not sure what really works? We have been leaving the disney channel playing because it has kid voices and some music.

I know this a lot of information, but I am just trying to make sure we are doing everything we can to make Kramer happy and healthy.

Any suggestions will help!

Thanks!

Trying to loose weight.. good school lunch ideas and workout routine?

I am overweight for my height and age. I am trying to loose a few and get in better shape.

I am going to begin by always bringing my lunch to school (used to eat out more than I would bring, and realized this is a waste of money and not good for my body). I am curious as to what I should bring for lunch.

I am also looking for a workout routine that isn’t too difficult, and is good for me. I own a tredmill, but nothing else.
I play soccer once a week (it’s winter time where I live, so I’m playing indoor soccer). In the summer I play soccer 2 times a week and I also play school rugby and school soccer.

Any other tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Also, I’ve posted similar questions in the past, and I’d really rather not have anyone tell me that I shouldn’t worry about my body during the teen years as I am a kid and need to have fun with life or something. The teen years make your body for the future, and I care. It’s better to be fit and healthy than anything else. I’d rather not be one of the people they show on the news when they talk about obesity.
Also, any tips or ideas to help keep me interested in this routine so I keep up with it and don’t give up after a week like I have in the past, that’d be awesome too.

Weight loss for a 14 year old?

I don’t know how long ago, but quite some time ago I became quite chubby. People I haven’t talked to in a few years remember me as “that chubby nerdy kid.” I’m 5’5″ (about) and weigh somewhere near 143 lbs. My weight is really distributed around my stomach, my thighs, and I have dreadfully acquired man boobs. I have tried for at least two years to try to lose weight. Many a time have I come up with an exercise routine and a good diet plan. Whenever I put these into action, I stay on them for around a week or two. Then I begin eating whatever I want again, and laze around all day long. I am asking right now because I realized this is serious. My mom as diabetes type 2 and my uncle went into the hospital today because of heart failure. The heart failure was caused by his weight. My brother is in similar shape and sheerly refuses to be compared to my uncle, saying he’ll be fine because “it hasn’t happened yet.” I’m worried for my health, my uncle’s health, and my brother’s health. I am not near their weights, or anywhere close, but still. Also, something that makes more sense to a guy my age, I have a new girlfriend who is a lot thinner than me… and I appeal to her emotionally and socially, but I doubt physically. If I ask, she says “don’t worry, I think you look nice” but I don’t care. I want to look and be healthier. After I have lost my flab, I also want to start building muscle. Lately I have been eating a lot less, though, for seemingly no reason at all. About a month ago, I was slightly over 150, but now I’ve dropped to 143.

Basically, how can I get into the habit of exercising regularly? I believe I’m getting into a good diet on my own accord, but any tips on that would help too.

And help me get off of Facebook!! Argh. My friend and my best friend’s sister both comment on how I’m on all the time, and that’s because I basically am, sadly. The only time I’m not is if I’m with friends.

why aren’t i as skinny??? =(?

i eat so much less than the other girls i know (i know this because i used to go to boarding school with them) but still im arounf 10kgs heavier! i exercise 4 times a week (500 sit ups, 100 lady pushups, 100 squats, 300 crunches and waterpolo! )
i have a healthy bmi but im young and my friends say that the amount of exersice i do i should be half their size! i seriously try so hard and ive been doing this for around a year but im still kinda chubbby but not fat. i wanna be fit so bad!! does anyone know whats wrong with me or does anyone have any tips? (by the way i tried the whole starvation thing when i was a kid and i tried cardio too but that didnt help!)
