Healthy Kids Food Options

How to Raise Healthy KidsMost households are very busy places, especially in the morning. Kids want feeding, you’ve got to prepare for work and many other things will need doing. So it can be easy to think about using pre-packaged and processed foods for the meals of the day. Even though self consciously you know they aren’t the healthiest options, they are the quickest. But healthy kids food can be prepared so easily and in the same amount of time as putting something in microwave.

So here are some tips to help you make sure your kids are getting the nutrition they need and you will still have time to get everything else done!

The first meal will be breakfast, so why not chop some fresh fruit and put it on top of the cereal. Kids will love the extra taste and will be getting some essential nutrients at the same time. Another thing you can do is to add some fruit, ice cubes and some low fat milk into your blender and make some great tasting smoothies. Again, there are lots of vitamins inside the fruit and they will taste great.

Lunch times can be made more healthy by adding vegetables onto their sandwiches. Just add some lettuce, cucumber or tomatoes onto their whole wheat bread. Use lean meats or tuna as the main filling instead of processed spreads or other unhealthy options.

Snacks can also be a main source for sugary and high fat ingredients. So try and combat this with having healthier options in the home. Get some celery and have dips or even peanut butter for the kids to dip it into.

Healthy kids food options are easily found if you put a small amount of effort into creating them. Most don’t take any extra time and your kids will not even realise you are trying to get them to eat healthier foods.
