Sometimes parents have to go to extreme lengths to make sure their kids are eating healthy foods. Hiding vegetables in kids food is just one of the many ways they try to ensure that their child is getting the right nutrients each day. Many people look on this as a moral issue and that not deceiving their child is not a good thing to do but others just believe that as long as their child is eating right, they are doing their duty as a parent.
Wherever you stand on the issue, the main thing is that the kids are eating vegetables and that has to be the most important thing. You don’t have to completely hide the vegetables in their food either, just disguise them so they don’t look as obvious. Or blend them and add them to their normal food, so they won’t even taste the difference.
You can start by pureeing carrots and adding them to various foods that have tomato sauces such as pizzas and soups. They won’t be able to taste the difference and will just think it is normal tomato sauce. You can also make some vegetable kebabs and leave them out for the kids to snack on. Maybe even some celery with a dip that they can dip the celery into.
You can also try arranging the vegetables into different shapes on the plate or giving the meals different names. This adds a bit of variety to the meal and kids will enjoy the fun aspect and not concentrate on the vegetables.
The more things you can do to encourage your kids to eat healthy foods and exercise the more healthy they will be. If that includes hiding vegetables in kids food then that is what you must do.
