I start school on September 9th…that’s a little over 3 weeks away…I’m 14, 5’4, and i go back and forth between 125-133lbs…it pretty much depends on if i eat a little bit less for a few days..i have accepted for a while now that my eating habits are unhealthy and that i am, in fact, overweight…i have these massive stretch marks and fat rolls…every since i was little i have always had a pot belly, prolly because when i was little i lived off of mountain dew and popcorn..i think thats why i’ve never been able to get a flat stomach…for about 5 years (while i lived with my health-obsessed stepmom) i ate nothing but healthy food and worked out and was very active, and i still had a stomach…i know it is probably impossible for me to ever have a perfectly flat stomach, but i know that i can make it near flat over the next few weeks if i try. so, how many push ups and sit ups should i do in a day? how often should i run? We own a 20 acre field so i could jog around there and my mom has agreed to start buying me some healthy food, but there’s another problem- she won’t stop buying the junk food because that’s all my stepdad eats…that makes me really tempted…what are some ways to take eating off my mind? i have this problem with thinking (for example) just because one day i only eat a few handfuls of chips and a chocolate bar and a few sips of pop and a piece of steak (actually, a big piece of steak, and i feel guilty because i wolf the whole thing down) that it’s healthy but at the end of the day i cry because i know it’s not…i yelled at my mom because she kept buying size small shirts and now she’s buying size Large at hollister and hollisters size large is still a bit tight around my stomach…it seems like all my fat has always gone straight to my stomach and no where else! every year i would tell myself how i was going to lose weight and then after a day i would be like “who am i kidding?” and like a drug addict i would relapse…we tried a gym scholarship but the gym is out of the way of everything…its not on my way home from school or when im going into town it’s like way out of the way and it just didn’t work out….thanks in advance and sorry this was so long
when i saw i worked out and was very active and i still had a stomach, i meant i still had a pot belly…..

Weight Watchers Tips?
I’m going to be joining weight watchers. I’ve done the program before and was pretty successful. Once when I was 13 and living with my step-grandma who was also on the program. It made it easier because it was just her and I, so all the food in the house was healthy and we were successful together.
I did it again about 2 years ago. It was more of a challenge becuase at this point I was living with my mother and younger siblings (now ages 7, 8, and 9). I would buy healthy food and weight watcher snacks but they would be gone in a day!! The kids would eat the food, my mom would make their lunch on my WW bread. I would portion out snacks for myself writing the POINTS VALUE on the baggie and the kids would grab them and take them to school. I even tried hiding the stuff but it was still found (And if i put it in my room I’d eat it all for a late night snack!)…so I quit the program.
I am now 21, just bought a condo with my fiance, and I’m about 60-80lbs overweight. I am going today to sign up for weight watchers again.
I need all the help I can get, so I’m wondering for other weight-watcheres members, what do you think is responsible for your success??
Healthy Diet for Children

Health becomes an issue as people get older. Experts have said the healthy diet for children helps prevent diseases and can keep your kids from being obese. Obesity is constantly increasing because of the increasing popularity of fast foods.
Before even starting the diet, never force your children to eat healthy. This might affect your relationship and children don’t like it when they’re told what to do. The first step is food shopping. Involve your children in grocery shopping and let him choose the foods he wants. From there, devise your own recipe and think of ways on how to make a healthy diet for children.
If your child loves to eat fried chicken, consider boiling the chicken and removing the skin so that the oil and fats are eliminated. Serve the chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes so that the chicken isn’t bland. In fact, the tastier it is, the more your kid will enjoy it.
Reduce intake of salty foods. If you can come up with dishes that contain no salt at all, the better. Salty foods are not healthy, and this is why junk foods are bad for the health. The fries and burger that your child loves in the local fast food joint contains an amount of salt more than you can imagine.
Instead of that chocolate ice cream or vanilla smoothie, why not let your child try yogurt and a fruit shake? Yogurt tastes good and is a healthier alternative because it has the same texture as ice cream, minus the calories. The vanilla smoothie can be replaced by a mango shake and can work wonders for the body. You can even combine different fruit shakes like strawberries and bananas, mangoes and melon, and a lot more. Be creative and serve them nicely in cool glasses so that they are more attractive to your kids.
Explain the good effects of the healthy diet. Discuss the effects of it on the immune system stressing the decreased chances of getting sick, the positive effect on the skin and muscles, and the like. This might motivate your kids and they might even help you come up with great recipes.
For sandwiches, use less butter and more of the healthy stuff. Adding lettuce and replacing the beef burger with chicken is healthier and tastier even without ketchup and mayo. Your kids don’t really have to sacrifice the taste to get the best health benefits. When bringing snacks to school, opt for cereal bars and eliminate junk food.
If your child has a huge appetite, eating frequently might work. A healthy diet for children means eating small snacks rather than three big, heavy meals. While doing their favorite activity, you might also want to encourage them to munch on carrot sticks or fruits like pears and grapes rather than the junk foods and crackers. When it comes to the diet, it is up to the parents to come up with creative ideas and make sure to have fun preparing it. Your kids will surely love being healthy too.

Anyone good at fitness tips?? How much weight can I loose…?
I had my son 6 months ago and went from a happy 145ish to almost 235…
Currently I weight around 200, I would love to eventually get back down to 150 but its so far ahead of me Id currently be happy at 180 for summer so I would love to loose 20 lbs.
I will eat healthy but not exercise and no weight comes off, im guessing its really necessary to work out?, I just figured from my work (daycare teacher) running after little kids all day burned enough, on top of being a full time mom but I guess not.
My question is, if I stuck to a calorie intake of about 900-1000 calories
how much should I work out to see results, and what is the most I could loose in a week.
Its hard because if I don’t see results I don’t stick to it, I would love to loose a little in a week to stick too it.
When I was younger I went from 167.5 pounds to 141 in 2 months, but I didn’t eat, and there is no way I could do that now. Im old and have a family lol.
tips on what foods to eat?
hi,
im hoping to lose a little bit of fat ive got on my stomach, but when i try to eat healthier foods i dont know what the hell to buy apart from salads. i wander around shops looking for something healthy to catch my eye, but end up buying microwave ready meals and pizza all the time instead. i’d eat right for every meal if i just knew what to get.
can anyone suggest any healthy foods/meals that
a) aren’t fat kid foods.
b) will actually fill me up.
the problem with most healthy foods i find is that they just aren’t filling enough.
cheers.
Need Tips on raising multiple family members with multiple food intolerances!?
I have two DDs, 2 and 3, who are on somewhat similar diets for their food intolerances. They are very extensive (gluten, soy, dairy, glutamate, nitrates). Then myself, I am vegetarian and have other food intolerance issues (certain lectins in certain foods I can’t eat, like potatoes, some beans, bananas, etc). Then there is my husband who refuses to eat anything healthy and will only eat pizza, hamburgers, fried chicken…and not the gluten-free version.
I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in the same boat who could offer some advice. It is getting harder and harder to answer questions my kids ask like, “mommy where is your chicken?” or “daddy your not eating broccoli?”. But there are NO meals that we can eat as a family…not even similar ones.
Any suggestions as to how I teach my kids that we are all on specific diets and it is ok for them to eat different foods than us?
tips for getting into shape?
i havent done a decent work out in 2 years due to being pregnant and now last year during my second pregnancy i was in a car accident and my physical therapist didn’t want me doing anything more than walking til my back was healed more. Now i am at that stage in my therapy where i can do light workouts, but with my kids its hard to get to a gym or do a fitness tapes. Plus i used to do fitness tapes a lot before i had kids and they just dont seem to do the same anymore. So now i need advice on how to lose weight and tone my abs up. I lost weight with both my pregnancies but after having my daughter with my therapy, i gained 30 pounds. I still have a bad back and knees, what are some exercises i can do at home and some advice for following healthier eating habits, i have a bad habit of craving carbs especially when i am stressed.
and i don’t believe in taking diet pills, weight loss happens with making an effort not by swallowing a pill so no ads on free trial please.
I have some body image issues, even though i know i am not overweight, i’d luv some tips on how to be healthy!
Well, I’m only 14, but i’m just beginning to feel kind of insecure about having a ‘pot’ belly or having a little extra fat on my stomach. it’s really weird because i’ve never had body image issues before, and i love everything else about myself except for that. however, i’ve decided that the best way to deal with it is to learn how to be healthy, because i realize that i’m not right now. I don’t excercise all that much and i eat a lot of junk
so i was wondering if anyone could tell me what i could do to stay in shape and be healthy both diet and excercise wise. recently I’ve been jump-roping, which i always loved as a little kid, and doing some crunches. I want to do that everyday although i’m pretty sure i wont when school starts. but i just wanted some tips anyways. thanx <33
